On his final day serving as an apex court judge, Justice Krishna Murari expressed that the Supreme Court represents the essence of India's diverse civilization. During a farewell ceremony organized by the Supreme Court Bar Association, Justice Murari emphasized the court's role in safeguarding the Constitution, which serves as the foundation of the nation.
Describing the Supreme Court as the keystone holding the Constitutional arch in place, Justice Murari stressed its enduring nature, stating that while individuals come and go, the court will continue to function. He encouraged senior lawyers to provide ample opportunities to junior counsel, recognizing the need for a platform to showcase their talents and develop their courtcraft.
Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud commended Justice Murari for his calm demeanor and humility in court, acknowledging his significant contributions in the field of service and family law. The Attorney General for India, R Venkataramani, and Supreme Court Bar Association President Adish Aggarwala also paid tribute to Justice Murari during the event.
Justice Murari pursued his law studies at Allahabad University and began his career as an advocate on December 23, 1981. He commenced his practice at the Allahabad High Court and was appointed as an additional judge on January 7, 2004. In 2005, he became a permanent judge, and in June 2018, he was elevated as Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Finally, on September 23, 2019, he was appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court.
