This law firm is offering ₹20 lakh annually to fresh law graduates.

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas (SAM) announced today that it is offering a salary of ₹20 lakh per annum to entry-level associates.

This is the highest compensation for fresh hires among law firms in the country.

In comparison, S&R Associates and Trilegal are reportedly offering around ₹19.8 lakh and ₹19.5 lakh, respectively, to their entry-level associates. Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and Khaitan & Co are offering approximately ₹18 lakh per year to new hires.

SAM has also revised its associate compensation, with increments based on a holistic individual performance evaluation that considers efficiency-based performance.

Top performers at the firm are reportedly receiving an average increment of 34%.

Commenting on this development, SAM Managing Partner Pallavi Shroff said,

“We want to attract the best talent from law schools. We recognise that talent makes decisions basis various factors and compensation is an important one. We are offering the best in class compensation along with a holistic developmental and well-being focused value proposition, which we are confident will make us the law firm of choice".
