
Justice Dinesh Maheshwari, on his final day as a Supreme Court judge, stressed the importance of hard work, teamwork and humility in achieving success. During a ceremony attended by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and Justice PS Narasimha, Justice Maheshwari, who began his career as a trial court lawyer, paid tribute to the contributions of colleagues, law clerks and members of the bar, noting that "no individual can perform." He was praised by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta for his courteous behavior toward all who appeared before him, while senior advocate Vikas Singh lamented his retirement, calling it "a great loss to the institution." Senior advocate AM Singhvi noted that Justice Maheshwari's court had a great sense of humor and that lawyers always left feeling warm. Attorney General R Venkataramani described Justice Maheshwari as a "grand equalizer," adding that every judge who becomes part of the institution leaves their imprint in their own unique way.
