The Delhi High Court is set to welcome a new addition to its bench as Dharmesh Sharma has been cleared for appointment as an additional judge by the Central government. The decision was announced by Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju via his Twitter account on Thursday, following Sharma's recommendation by the Supreme Court Collegium on April 12. With a sanctioned strength of 60 judges, the Delhi High Court currently faces a vacancy of 15 judges out of its 45 functioning judges as of April 1. Sharma's appointment is expected to ease the workload on the court and help expedite pending cases.
