An advocate named Parvathy S Krishnan, who practices before the High Court of Kerala, has been accused of sending her client a forged court order. A complaint was lodged by her former client, Judeson PJ, leading to the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) at the Fort Cochin police station.
The FIR against Krishnan encompasses various offenses punishable under Sections 420, 406, 468, and 471 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
These offenses include cheating and dishonesty inducing delivery of property, criminal breach of trust, forgery for the purpose of cheating, and fraudulently or dishonestly using any document or electronic record that is known or believed to be forged.
According to the FIR, Krishnan informed Judeson that she could expedite the process of converting his 11.3 cents of land from wetland to dryland in the official records of the Revenue Divisional Office (RDO).
This conversion is a mandatory requirement under the Kerala Conservation of Paddy Land and Wetland Act, 2008, but it is a time-consuming procedure that could potentially take years.
Krishnan allegedly promised Judeson that she could accomplish this task swiftly if he paid her a fee of ₹75,000.
As per the FIR, after obtaining Judeson's signature on her vakalath (power of attorney) and receiving an advance payment of ₹40,000, she sent him a forged and signed reference letter from the RDO, along with a counterfeit order from the Kerala High Court.
Based on these allegations, the FIR against Krishnan was officially registered on September 29.
