"Supreme Court Petition Filed by Vivekananda Reddy's Daughter Against Former PA in Murder Case"
Suneetha Reddy, the daughter of YS Vivekananda Reddy, the former Member of Parliament from Kadapa who was murdered, has approached the Supreme Court challenging the actions of Krishna Reddy, the original complainant and former Personal Assistant (PA) of Vivekananda Reddy. A bench consisting of Justices Krishna Murari and PV Sanjay Kumar granted permission to Suneetha's application to be a party in the petition filed by Krishna Reddy. Krishna Reddy had sought clarification on an earlier order, claiming victim status and the right to challenge the pardon granted to the accused. The Court has issued a notice to the Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) and scheduled the hearing for July 3. Suneetha's application alleges that Krishna Reddy, who had a role in the crime, is trying to present himself as a victim and impede the investigation. The case pertains to the murder of Vivekananda Reddy, who was stabbed to death in March 2019 at his residence in Kadapa. The trial was later transferred to a Special CBI Court in Hyderabad, and the investigation was handed over to the CBI by the Andhra Pradesh High Court in 2020. Additionally, the Supreme Court also issued notice on another plea by Suneetha, challenging the regular bail granted to T Gangi Reddy, one of the accused in the murder case, by the Telangana High Court. The Supreme Court had previously cancelled Gangi Reddy's default bail in January and remanded the matter to the High Court for fresh consideration, resulting in the grant of regular bail.
