"Supreme Court E-Committee Empowers Visually Challenged Court Staff through Digital Accessibility Training at IIPA, New Delhi"
The Supreme Court E-Committee recently organized an impactful two-day Digital Accessibility training program for visually challenged court staff members from District and Taluk courts across India. The training took place at the prestigious Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) in New Delhi.
Representatives from various states, including Delhi, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Madras, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, and Telangana, actively participated in the training. Under the visionary leadership of Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud, the primary objective of the training was to enhance the digital infrastructure of the Indian judicial system, making it more accessible to individuals with disabilities.
Following a hands-on training model, each participant was equipped with a laptop preloaded with accessibility software such as NVDA and Jaws. This practical approach allowed participants to gain firsthand experience and enhance their digital accessibility skills.
At the conclusion of the training, certificates were awarded to participants by SN Tripathi, the Director General of IIPA. The coordination of the program was led by R Arulmozhiselvi, Member (HR) of the E-Committee, with the valuable assistance of Dr. Surabhi Pandey from IIPA, alongside special educators Rajender Singh Negi from NIEPVD and Inderpreet Singh from NAB.
Through such initiatives, the Supreme Court E-Committee continues to drive inclusivity and accessibility, ensuring equal access to justice for all individuals, regardless of their abilities.
