Lawyer Attacked: Wife, Brothers-in-law Booked for Opening Fire in Ludhiana

A day after car-borne assailants opened fire at lawyer Sukhmeet Singh Bhatia in Phase 1 of Urban Estate, Dugri, the police booked his wife, two brothers-in-law and their aides for the attack.

The suspects have been identified as Gagandeep Kaur (wife), Mandeep Singh Gulati and Sukhwinder Singh Gulati (brothers-in-law), and Mohit Verma of Benjamin Road. One person has not been identified.

Sukhmeet Singh said Gagandeep Kaur had left home on Dec 1, 2022. He alleged that his brothers-in-law and their aides opened fire at him on February 14. He received bullet injuries and is receiving treatment at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital.

A case under Sections 307, 506, 34, 120-B IPC, and 25/27-54-59 of the Arms Act has been registered.
