Delhi Court Grants Bail to Lalu Prasad Yadav and Sons in Land-for-Jobs Case

In a major legal development, a Delhi court granted bail to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, along with his children Tejashwi and Tej Pratap Yadav, in the continuing land-for-jobs caseYadav served as Bihar's previous chief minister.

 

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating claims that, while serving as the minister of railways, Lalu Prasad Yadav accepted land parcels as bribes in exchange for positions with the Indian Railways. The judge approved the measure after reviewing the allegations and hearing arguments from the prosecution and defense. 

 

Lalu Prasad Yadav and members of his family were involved in a fraudulent scheme from 2004 to 2009, the CBI has confirmed. In this scheme, individuals were purportedly advertised railroad occupations in return for offering their land to Yadav's family at costs that were less than advertise esteem.
